Lubeck is the second largest city in Northern Germany and the largest port located on the Baltic Sea. The historical portion of the city is an island, which allowed it to serve as the capital of the Hanseatic League, a German trading alliance, for several centuries. Today, Lubeck is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site because of its Brick Gothic architecture. The intention of this project was to develop an identity for Lubeck that highlighted both its modernism and historical charm.
I recorded my media usage during the first two weeks of September. This included texting, emailing, talking on the phone, watching television, gaming, listening to music, and Facebooking. After compiling the data, I was able to categorize these media as either communication or entertainment and then developed a system that highlighted how each category affects the other and how they are affected by the days of the week.
A mark must represent where a company is today and where it is headed tomorrow. Here are a few marks that I've created over the years.
